Traveling to Baltimore


Three major airports serve Baltimore: Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Maryland, as well as Washington Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Just 15 minutes from downtown, BWI Thurgood Marshall offers more than 650 flights daily to more than 70 international and domestic destinations, including London, Frankfurt and the Caribbean. The airport features easy access to the Light Rail as well as the BWI Amtrak Station.


Baltimore’s Penn Station is one of Amtrak’s busiest stations, serving more than 932,800 guests each year. Penn Station is easily accessible by I-95, I-83 and I-70. Amtrak offers special group fares. Visit Amtrak's website for more information and special discounts.

Detailed information is available on the airport website for airport shuttles, car rentals, and mass transit. Unreserved cabs are available at Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) to downtown for approximately $35 to $40 each way. 

Light Rail: The BWI Marshall Airport Light Rail Station is located immediately outside the lower level of the terminal building, adjacent to Concourse E.

SuperShuttle: SuperShuttle provides ground transportation service to all Baltimore hotels from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Reagan National Airport (DCA), and Dulles International Airport (IAD). Reservations may be made online (or by calling (800) BLUE-VAN (258-3826). Please note, phone reservations may incur a $3 booking fee. No fee applies when booking online or through the SuperShuttle mobile app.

Taxi: Cabs are easily available to/from the airport and train station. BWI taxi stands are located just outside baggage claim on the lower level of the terminal near doors 5 and 13. Charm City Circulator: The Charm City Circulator is a free transportation service with four routes that intersect downtown Baltimore, including a route to Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. The routes also connect to other forms of transit such as the Light Rail, MARC, the Metro Subway, and the Baltimore Water Taxi.
